Sample Venue Arrangement
Below is an image of a sample venue arrangement. The arrangement is based upon both the standard layout usually faxed to the venue in advance of the hearing by An Bord Pleanala, and derivations seen in practice.
Some deviation from their indicative schematic will almost always be necessary due to venue constraints, and the fact that their layout includes no provision for a screen.
The layout shown is by no means the only one used and many variations are possible. For example, some scheme developers ask the Inspector for permission to have the witness give evidence from their table, and this is commonly granted, doing away with the necessity for the witness table shown in the model.
The position of the display operator is also not fixed and can be in a variety of positions, though for practical reasons it is usually advisable to have him or her close to the legal and senior technical staff.
